From the moment I heard about the goal of Stand for Faith, Family and Freedom, I was all in! The divisive rhetoric that has become commonplace and acceptable in our society has sickened me. When learning that Stand for Faith, Family and Freedom was a unifying organization formed so that community members would stop, think about what they stand for, what their core values are and then research candidate platforms/voting records (in a non-partisan, non-denominational manner) to determine who best would represent them, I knew I could help others understand that an educated electorate is imperative. From a mutual perspective of ‘what do I stand for’ and respectful dialogue (even though opposing views are stated), the correct and true choice can be made by each individual. After all, isn’t that what our Founding Fathers did when they created these ‘United’ States?

I have felt for a while that I needed to do something to express my opinion and share it in a positive way. There are too many ways to communicate opinions in a negative or combative way. When I heard the idea to start this group that supports Faith, Family and Freedom I knew it was a small way I could share my voice and try to encourage others to do the same. This country was founded to protect individuals’ Faith, Family, and Freedom. I believe we have a patriotic duty to continue to stand for those same principles today. America is a great country and will continue to be great as long as we preserve and maintain those rights.”

James Madison, 4th President of the United States
"But whatever may be the judgement pronounced on the competency of the architects of the Constitution, or whatever may be their destiny, of the edifice prepared by them, I feel it a duty to express my profound and solemn conviction, derived from my intimate opportunity of observing and appreciating the views of the Convention, collectively and individually, that there never was an assembly of men, charged with a great and arduous trust, who were more pure in their motives, or more exclusively or anxiously devoted to the object committed to them, than were the members of the Federal Convention of 1787, to the object of devising and proposing a constitutional system which would best supply the defects of that which it was to replace, and best secure the permanent liberty and happiness of their country."

My life has revolved around faith, family, and freedom. They have been the foundation for my happiness. They work hand in hand. My freedom protects my faith, my faith strengthens my family, my family thrives with freedom. We have much in common: choosing how we worship, loving and caring for our families, and being grateful for the freedoms the forefathers wrote in the constitution.”

As I have watched the disturbing events of what I consider unproductive ways of standing for what one believes, I was grateful to be made aware of this developing organization which stands for things I hold dear. I am grateful for its non-partisan and non-denominational focus to bring people together regardless of political party affiliation, race, or religious persuasions to focus on and be educated about the events in our community, nation, and the world that seek to destroy the things I believe make society functional. I am particularly impressed that one of the purposes of the organization is to encourage unity in the community through the respectful sharing of ideas.

Enormous problems loom before us. Dangers that could destroy our nation lie at every turn. Amidst it all, our faith in each other seems to have fallen to a morale-sucking low. Is it a surprise, then, that what used to be concern for our nation has, in some circles, deepened into a pessimism that borders on despair? Could it be that our moral corrosion has so weakened our confidence and spirit that we are no longer up to the task? We don’t think that is the case...
